Purpose of this Travel

Purpose of this Travel

We’ve summarized the purpose of this travel simply with 4 items deriving from ‘Three Motivations‘ that defines what this travel really is for specifically. We may want to leave to achieve this.

For travel, like everything in the world, maybe much more.., ‘the purpose‘ is the most essential part.

If a person travels with a mind that s/he wants to leave to somewhere without no specific purpose, every moment in the travel will be changing whimsically anytime, anywhere, led by the coincidence and feeling. Sometimes that sounds great.

Since we are living in busy repetitive life, unexpected travel with no plan may refresh our brain, and even it might bring us to see another point of view looking at our lives. We sometimes say like ‘why don’t we go to see a movie?’ so that we go to the theater to see an unplanned movie, or go drive around Seoul to cool our brains.

Our trip is little bit heavier than that kind of ones. But if we set too much heavy purpose and it must be get answered from somewhere, every time in a year will be a harship like a passion on the cross.

So we’ve talked a lot on this to get this simplified 4 purposes. Looks abstract, but it’s the only unravelled thinkings from the complicated skein of thread. Write all stuffs in our mind, then filter and filter to get the purified one that we think important.

Purpose 1. Being Together

First, this is the travel to be together. We will be spending a lot of time in the same place, so we do want to train securing the “time” being together. Every week, in the travel, there will be 20 hours of works should be done to earn money, which is a train that will verify and conclude our hypothesis that the family can spend much time even in working regularly, was right.

Purpose 2. Having a Sound Body and Mind

Restore human legs as a means of travel. Pedestrians rely on food for fuel and need no special parking facilities. – Lewis Mumford

Second, to get healthy both in mind and body.

1) Our body will be healthy by taking an exercise in the beautiful nature.

2) Our mind will be warm-hearted with good people, good books, good words, and good seeings that makes us to get inspired and refreshed.

3) Spirit also be healthy starting a day by reading the Bible in th morning, talking with the verses we’ve meditated often will bring us to the biblical thinking and attitude in our normal life, as well.

Purpose 3. Sabbatical

Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer’s day, listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time. – John Lubbock

Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He ‘rested’ from all His work which God had created and made. – Genesis 2:3, The Bible

Third, giving a sabbatical year for those who have worked too hard which are us.

Nobody gives us this kind of period to rest. We should cut off the ordinary daily life, and decide the time.

The rest in our life is so important that it vitalizes us. As the muscle needs to be relaxed to contract, the rest is very important.

Purpose 4. Lifelong Dream, a Round-the-World

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. – Mark Twain

The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page. – Saint Augustine

The last purpose is, to achieve our lifelong dream.

We only can live in this world once, so we may all want to go every place. That’s our dream, too. If we miss this chance, we don’t think we could have another chance before 60. It’s hard to move if we have children, before they are grown up as well as to stack up our career and settle down some place and earn money, it sounds really hard to long time span of vacation, alongside with getting older gets more fears on challenging something totally new so that it’s hard to put down whole thing.

By this reason, we’ve firmly decided to go a round-the-world (RTW) trip.
